DRIVING TO COMBLOUX

Once on the Autoroute Blanc towards Chamonix, there are two toll gates to go through costing 1.70 and 3.70 euros respectively. 10 kms after the Cluses toll, take exit 20 to Sallanches.

The slip road joins the N205 into Sallanches. About 250 yds down, the 'Carrefour' hypermarket is a useful stop for provisions. Carry straight on for another mile into the shopping centre (through 3 roundabouts and 3 sets of traffic lights).

Following signs for Albertville, Megève and Combloux, turn right at traffic lights then left across the river about 150 yards on. (Beware, most sat-navs direct you to take a right and left turn just after this bridge. DO NOT AT YOUR PERIL or you are likely to get marooned on the very old narrow road to Combloux.)

Stay on the main N212, which twists and climbs for about 4 miles into Combloux. If it is snowing you'll need to pull in to THE lay-bye and fit snow chains.

Just before the village there is a roundabout, keep straight on through a 2nd roundabout just before a Citroen garage and a 3rd as you reach the Combloux shops.

Notice the MARIN SPORTS sign in the car park on your left. This is an excellent shop where we have arranged discount on all equipment hire or purchases, but they also have a branch near the apartments.

If it is snowing you may need to turn left and fit chains in this car park, because its more difficult later on.

A few yards further on there is a raised 20 kph section of road in front of the tourist office and after that a roundabout where you must turn sharp right before making the final ascent to our apartments.
